This Privacy Policy describes how Furman Labs ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Nishnush mobile application ("Nishnush", the "App"), and explains your privacy rights. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Definitions
Application / App / Service refers to the Nishnush mobile application developed by Furman Labs.
Company ("we", "us", "our") refers to Furman Labs, the operator of Nishnush.
You means the individual accessing or using the Service.
Personal Data means any information that identifies you as an individual.
Usage Data means data collected automatically through use of the App.
2. Information We Collect
Account & Profile Data
- Your email address and provider identifier when you sign in with Apple or Google (authentication is handled by Supabase Auth).
- The profile details you provide during onboarding to personalize your nutrition targets: gender, height, weight, date of birth, activity level, goal type, and goal weight.
- Your calculated daily calorie and macronutrient (protein, carbs, fat) targets and language preference (English or Hebrew).
Content You Add
- Photos of food you capture or select for AI nutrition analysis.
- Voice input you record when you choose to describe a meal by speech.
- Food log entries (item labels in English and Hebrew, quantities, and calculated macros) and your weight history entries.
Usage & Subscription Data
- Your subscription status, managed via RevenueCat.
- Limited, anonymized diagnostic and device data automatically processed by the app stores and RevenueCat.
We do not collect your IP address or track your browsing behavior.
3. Device Permissions
Nishnush requests the following permissions only to provide specific features. You can grant or revoke them in your device settings:
- Camera — to photograph your food for nutrition analysis.
- Photo Library — to let you pick an existing food photo, and to optionally save analyzed photos.
- Microphone & Speech Recognition — to transcribe meal descriptions when you choose to describe a meal by voice.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Nishnush app.
- To calculate personalized nutrition targets and analyze the food you log.
- To store and manage the content and history you add.
- To determine your access to premium features.
- To respond to support requests and handle abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
5. AI Processing of Your Food Data
When you photograph or describe a meal:
- The image or text is sent to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) so it can be analyzed and converted into a nutrition estimate.
- The resulting food entry is stored securely in your account, and the photo is stored in our private Supabase storage.
- Third-party AI providers may temporarily process this data to fulfill the request, subject to their own data usage policies, and do not use it to identify you.
6. Subscriptions & Payments
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not collect or store any payment card information. We store only whether you have an active subscription in order to grant access to premium features.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely with Supabase. We protect it using:
- Row-Level Security (RLS) so that only you can access your data.
- Private storage with short-lived signed URLs for your images.
- Modern authentication (Apple / Google sign-in).
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. No system is completely secure, but we apply industry-standard measures to protect your information.
8. Account & Data Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings > Delete Account in the app. This removes your profile, food logs, weight history, and stored photos. You may also contact us to request deletion.
9. Children's Privacy
Nishnush is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
11. Governing Language
The Hebrew version of this Privacy Policy is the binding version. This English text is a translation provided for your convenience only; in the event of any discrepancy or conflict between the two versions, the Hebrew version shall prevail.
